HELP US HELP OTHERS THIS CHRISTMAS
The Waterfront Rescue Mission wants to thank their volunteers and supporters for their help this Thanksgiving. Through the generosity of the community they were able to serve over 5,000 meals and provide clothing, blankets, and toiletries hundreds of needy individuals through the Giveaway Program that day. Everyone involved in this event came away with a blessing.

Volunteers began to arrive at the Missions as early as 7 a.m. and the servers began to box meals for deliveries at 9 a.m. Volunteer Delivery Drivers took over 4,000 meals to shut –ins and homebound in the Gulf Coast communities.

The second shift of volunteer servers took their places to serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal to hundreds of guests who came to the Missions for the Great Thanksgiving Banquet. Retired Major League Baseball player, Travis Fryman was the honorary chair at the Pensacola Banquet. He spoke of his life experiences and his words encouraged those who attended. He shared the good news of Jesus Christ and offered hope to those who would receive Christ as their Savior. The Banquet was a celebration and the volunteers served with joy and created a loving, family atmosphere for the homeless and needy in our communities.

The Waterfront Rescue Mission is now preparing for Operation Christmas. They want you to be a part of this Event!

If you would like to volunteer to serve or deliver meals on Christmas Day, please call your local Rescue Mission. They also need your donations of blankets, socks, underclothes, scarves, gloves, coats, sweatshirts, and toiletries. They will be distributing Shoebox gifts to the homeless during their Christmas Eve Service and on Christmas Day following the Banquet meal. Please call Adrienne Humphreys for more details on the Shoebox Project. If you know someone that is in need of a meal on Christmas Day, please call your local Waterfront Rescue Mission to schedule a meal to be delivered. Operation Christmas will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 25. Everyone is invited to come celebrate. Special music, a delicious meal, and a Giveaway Program will be included in the Event that day.
