2009 Graduate Testimonies

Meet Percy Garcia. This amazing young man graduated from New Hope Home in August of 2009. Percy has now moved on to the Waterfront Rescue Mission's Career Development Program.

The following is the personal words Percy spoke at the August graduation ceremony at New Hope Home:

Percy Garcia
My name is Percy Garcia and I am 26 years old. I'm from Columbus, Ohio and I definitely was not raised in a Christian home. God was something that was just not talked about. Christianity and ministry were something completely foreign to me. As a child, I can count in my hand the number of times I attended church. I grew up in a very dysfunctional home, which forced me to live a life of survival. Crime, drug-use, alcoholism and violence had become the norm. On February 4 of 2009 I joined the Waterfront Rescue Mission's Recovery Program in Fort Walton Beach. This was where I surrendered my life to the Lord completely. Later, I realized how much effort God had been putting into leading me to the Mission.

After three productive months (at the Fort Walton Beach Mission) God was able to teach me many important things. These last four months at New Hope Home in Gulf Breeze have served to solidify them and help me make them a lifestyle. I now understand how rich God's purpose for my life is.
