Waterfront Rescue Mission partners with Cooking for the Community

September 29, 2011 – Cooking for the Community is selling Boston Butts and has decided to partner with Waterfront Rescue Mission to maximize giving. The community can purchase a delicious Boston Butt for $30 and if they choose, can opt for the meat to be donated to Waterfront Rescue Mission to help feed the homeless. These donations will benefit two organizations at once. While Waterfront Rescue Mission has been providing services for homeless men and women along the Gulf Coast since 1949, Cooking for the Community is a newer non-profit making a difference. Cooking for the Community is a ministry of Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church and over the past year they have restored homes in extreme disrepair, taught tutoring classes and distributed Christmas packages to children. For more information about Cooking for the Community, contact Slade McLendon at 251-583-8371.
