Mardi Gras KREWE KARRUS NAVALIS FOOD DRIVE CHALLENGE

Pensacola, Florida, January 27, 2012. Krewe Karrus Navalis is challenging all local Krewes participating in Pensacola Mardi Gras to collect as much food as possible between now and Fat Tuesday. All food collected will benefit Waterfront Rescue Mission. The Krewe collecting the most pounds will be awarded the "Krewe Karrus Navalis, Pensacola Mardi Gras Humanitarian Award" trophy during the celebrations on Fat Tuesday. Although Krewe Karrus Navalis will be collecting food and keeping up with our donation weights, Krewe Karrus Navalis will NOT be competing for the trophy or notoriety!!!

Anyone wishing to merely donate food outside of the competition can drop off at any of the following locations in Pace: Dan's Satellites, Riviera Fitness Center, Oops Alley, and Head to Toe; & in Pensacola, West Marine on Davis Highway is another drop off location. Any food dropped off at these locations will be donated under the Krewe Karrus Navalis name as we do not have personnel at these locations to allocate any differently. If you want to donate under your Krewe, you must do so at one of the three official weigh ins. Pensacola Mardi Gras is awarding 5 Priscus Beans to your Krewe for every 10 pounds of food donated by your Krewe. Dan's Satellite's is also giving away a Sony BlueRay player and a 55" TV through the end of January. Anyone dropping food off at this location will be entered to win!!!!

There will be three official weigh ins with scales:

Saturday, January 28, 2012 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm at Comendencia Slip

Sunday, February 12, 2012-Location & Time TBA

Friday, February 17, 2012-Waterfront's Downtown Shelter on Main Street time TBA
