Temperatures Drop While Need Increases

January 4, 2012 - With temperatures forecasted in the freezing range, Waterfront Rescue Mission has had an influx of guests. The chaplains have been working tirelessly to meet the needs of the increased amount of guests.

In Pensacola, mats have been placed in the chapel to accommodate all those in need. However, when the new Pensacola shelter relocates to Herman Street later this year, there will be enough beds that guests will not have to sleep on mats.

With a surge in overnight guests, the Mission has also been preparing and serving more meals and utilizing more resources. All services are free whether someone stays one night or chooses to enter the recovery program.

While Waterfront Rescue Mission is blessed to be able to provide warm and safe shelter for those in need, it could not be accomplished without support from the community. For $28 you can provide a night of warm and safe shelter. To find out more information how you can help, please click here.
