WATERFRONT RESCUE MISSION'S NEEDS HELP FOR CHRISTMAS BANQUET
The Mission prepares to feed thousands along the Gulf Coast at their annual Christmas Banquet.
December 7, 2010 - The Mission staff is gearing up to prepare, serve and deliver close to 5,300 free meals on Christmas Day to those in need. The Waterfront Rescue Mission is requesting the help of the community for this great event. There are numerous ways that individuals, groups, or businesses can help:
-Donate items for the Holiday Shop/ Donation Giveaway Program- coats, jeans, gloves, scarves, hats, blankets, backpacks, socks, sleeping bags, underwear, personal hygiene items, etc.
-Volunteer to deliver or serve meals on Christmas Day. If you would like to volunteer, please call 888-853-8655.
-Make a financial donation- $2.23 provides 1 meal, $11.15 provides 5 mealsand $22.30 provides 10 meals. Visit www.waterfrontmission.org to donate today!
All item donations can be delivered to any of their three Mission locations:
-Pensacola Men's Mission: 16 West Main Street, Pensacola, Florida
-Fort Walton Beach Mission: 112 Hollywood Blvd. SE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida
-Mobile Mission: 206 State Street, Mobile, Alabama
The Banquet will be held on Christmas Day and will include music and a short program beginning at 11 a.m. and a traditional Christmas meal being served at noon. A Holiday Shop will be set up to distribute clothing and toiletry items to those in need.
If you or someone you know are unable to attend the banquet and cannot afford a traditional Christmas meal, Mission volunteers can deliver one to you. Please call 888-853-8655 to take part in this delivery service.
