Does a person have to be a Christian in order to receive services?

Waterfront Rescue Mission is a Christian organization, but does not withhold its services on the basis of race, religion, or any other factor.

Is Waterfront Rescue Mission tied to any particular church or denomination?

Although Waterfront Rescue Mission is a Christian organization, we are not tied to any one church or denomination. In fact, we enjoy support and involvement from a wide variety of congregations.

Is Waterfront Rescue Mission a national organization?

No. Like most rescue missions, Waterfront Rescue Mission is autonomous and governed by a local Board of Directors. All funds received support the Waterfront Rescue Mission facilities and programs in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Walton and Okaloosa Counties in Florida, as well as Mobile, Escambia and Baldwin Counties in Alabama. The Waterfront Rescue Mission is also a member of Association of Gospel Rescue Mission (AGRM), a national organization that works to accelerate quality and effectiveness in missions who are members.

Is chapel attendance mandatory for homeless people to eat at the shelters?

No. The Waterfront Rescue Mission offers chapel services to our guests who come to the Waterfront Rescue Mission shelters. However, they are not required to attend.
