Legacy Giving

Do Something for Tomorrow Today

Planned giving is a way donors can provide a future gift from their estate to the Waterfront Rescue Mission. Usually, it is a contribution beyond their income. Planned giving is not meant to replace, but to compliment, the donor's current giving plan to the Waterfront Rescue Mission.

You can specify a portion of your assets to go the Mission. This arrangement may be changed any time you choose. You may also direct your gift support toward a particular recovery program or shelter of the Waterfront Rescue Mission.

Many of the ways that planned gifts can be given to the Waterfront Rescue Mission are beneficial to the donor. During your lifetime you can receive tax benefits by investing in specific instruments such as pooled income funds, gift annuities, and various trusts. Often these incomes exceed the donor’s investment in saving accounts, certificates of deposit, etc.

A planned gift today can help us continue to meet the needs of the less fortunate and carry out the vision of the Waterfront Rescue Mission for years to come.

Ways that you may consider us through legacy giving are:

• Bequest of Residue
• Specific Bequest
• Designation of Beneficiary of Life Insurance Policies or Pension Plans
       (IRA, Other Retirement Plans, etc.)
• Gift of Real Estate
• Gift from a Trust Fund or Annuity
• Contingent Bequest
• Appreciated Securities

Gifts in any of these forms can be made in memory of or in honor of a loved one.

For advice or assistance in specific cases, please consult your attorney or professional advisor.
